We offer a wide range of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities. These are available to all elders and provide enrichment, entertainment, and allow them to maintain an active lifestyle. Each of our elders is offered three structured group activities per day.
Arts and Crafts
Engaging residents in various arts and crafts activities such as painting, drawing, floral arranging, etc. can stimulate creativity and provide a sense of accomplishment.
Music Therapy
Incorporating music therapy sessions where residents can listen to music, sing along, play instruments, or participate in music-related activities can promote relaxation, improve mood, and evoke memories.
Exercise Classes
Offering exercise classes tailored to different abilities and interests, including chair exercises, yoga, and gentle stretching sessions, helps residents maintain physical fitness, flexibility, and mobility.
Brain Games and Puzzles
Organizing activities like crossword puzzles, trivia quizzes, word games can help keep residents mentally sharp, enhance cognitive function, and provide opportunities for social interaction.
Gardening
Providing gardening activities such as planting flowers, tending to vegetable gardens, or participating in horticultural therapy can offer residents a sense of purpose, connection to nature, and sensory stimulation.
Cooking and Baking
Hosting cooking demonstrations, baking classes, or themed culinary events where residents can assist in meal preparation, share recipes, and enjoy tasting sessions fosters socialization, sensory engagement, and reminiscence.
Pet Therapy
We have a “Wentworth mascot”! Millie, the Goldendoodle, visits our campus daily. Millie provides our elders with companionship, emotional support, and opportunities for sensory stimulation and physical interaction.
Intergenerational Programs
Collaborating with schools to facilitate intergenerational programs, such as tea parties, Easter egg hunts, piano playing, etc. promotes social engagement, learning, and mutual understanding between generations.
Cultural and Spiritual Activities
Hosting cultural events, religious services, and discussions on spiritual topics cater to residents' diverse cultural and spiritual needs, providing opportunities for reflection, connection, and community support.
Special Events and Celebrations
Organizing themed parties, holiday celebrations, live entertainment, and outings to local events and festivals fosters a sense of festivity, belonging, and joy among residents and staff.
